Purpose. Billing and administrative staff who work from home handle the same patient information as in the office, with fewer people around to notice a problem.

Setup. Remote work uses a practice laptop connected through the practice VPN. Personal computers are never used for practice work.

Surroundings. Screens face away from windows and other household members. Paper with patient information is not printed at home.

Travel. Laptops are never left in a vehicle. Public wireless networks are used only through the VPN.
